The conversion of the Old Vicarage, along with a number of substantial extensions, now provides a modern, light and airy environment.
The building is double glazed, and has thermostatically controlled radiators in every room for the maximum comfort of each individual resident. More recently, air conditioning has been installed in some areas of the Home, to cool the building over the hot summer months.
The Home has two conveniently situated lifts. Extra-width doors and the absence of any steps inside the building, or to get out to the gardens, make life much easier for residents who may use a wheelchair or walking aid.
Seven of the bathrooms have assisted baths to make bathing for even the most dependent person a pleasurable experience. Showers are also available for those who may prefer them.
In addition, all of the bathrooms and toilets are fitted with convenient handrails to help residents stay as independent as possible.
Personal laundry is carried out on a daily basis by our dedicated domestic staff in the two modern laundries on the premises.
There are a number of dayrooms available for residentsí use. One contains a large plasma TV with Digital Freeview and a DVD player, while others are used as either quiet rest areas or music rooms.
